How to Find a Great Deal on a Used Tractor

Have you ever considered buying a used tractor?

This could be the perfect strategy for finding a great deal.

Great deals are not easy find.  The demand for used tractors is very high.  Still --- great deals do exist, as you will see below.  You just need to know what to look for.

First and foremost --- you need to determine the type and amount of work your tractor will be doing.  This will help you decide what tractor you want to locate.  You can locate tractors through contacts, dealers, referrals, reviews, or using online tractor sales resources.   

Once you locate a tractor, you need to take a close look at the deal.  A great deal will check off the boxes below.

Here is what to look for:

  • Priced right (Is it within your budget?)    
  • Low use hours/mechanically sound (Does it run well?  Did a mechanic or dealer inspect it for you?  Does it appear well taken care of?)   
  • Minimal wear and tear (How does the body look?  Chips?  Dents?  Scratches?  How does the engine sound?  Everything working correctly?)
  • Service history (Can you get access to the service records/history?)
  • Included implements/upgrades (Does the tractor come with a backhoe kit, front loader, canopy, box blade, etc?) 
  • Warranty (Does the tractor still have a factory warranty?)   
  • Financing (Can you get financing?) 
  • Delivery (Can they deliver it to you cost effectively?)   

These deal components are very important.  Make sure to consider all of them.
