Hybrid VS Traditional Steering Systems
Hybrid steering systems offer greater versatility than traditional steering by seamlessly adapting to different speeds and driving conditions. Unlike conventional systems that typically steer only the front wheels, hybrid systems can automatically switch between steering modes.
At low speeds, they use opposite-phase (counter-phase) steering, where the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels. This greatly reduces the turning radius, making tight maneuvers—like those needed in orchards or confined spaces—much easier.
At higher speeds, they switch to same-phase (in-phase) steering, where the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels. This enhances stability, control, and safety during fast maneuvers or lane changes.
This automatic adaptability means hybrid steering systems combine the best of both worlds: superior maneuverability at low speeds and enhanced stability at high speeds. As a result, they can handle a wider range of tasks and terrains more effectively than traditional steering systems, making them especially valuable for modern agricultural and commercial vehicles.
