To keep your tractor tires in top shape during winter, follow smart and proven maintenance practices.

Cold temperatures cause tire pressure to drop. Check your tires daily or weekly, depending on use, and adjust as needed to avoid underinflation or overinflation, both of which can damage tires and hurt performance.

Regularly look for cuts, cracks, punctures, or embedded debris. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage and ensure safe operation.

Frozen ruts, clumps, and stubble can act like sharp rocks, risking punctures or breaks. Whenever possible, smooth out main driving paths and minimize travel over rough, frozen surfaces.

If your tractor will be idle, store it indoors or cover the tires. Cold, sunlight, and moisture can make rubber brittle and prone to cracking. Store tires upright, away from oil, grease, and electric motors (which produce ozone that degrades rubber).

Check tread depth and replace worn tires. Rotating tires can help promote even wear and extend their lifespan, which is especially important for maintaining traction in winter.

Now you can extend the life of your tractor tires and ensure reliable performance throughout the winter season.
