Tractor tires are primarily made from a combination of the following materials...

Natural Rubber: Sourced from the latex of Hevea trees, natural rubber provides elasticity, adherence, resistance, and impermeability. High-quality tractor tires typically have a higher proportion of natural rubber, which enhances durability and flexibility.

Synthetic Rubber: Produced from hydrocarbons, synthetic rubber is mixed with natural rubber to strengthen the tire and reduce production costs. It is less sustainable and generally used more in lower-cost tires.

Reinforcement Layers: Tractor tires contain multiple layers (plies) of reinforcement materials such as nylon, polyester, rayon, or sometimes cotton. These fabric cords improve resistance, load capacity, and flexibility of the tire.

Steel Belts: Some tractor tires, especially those designed for heavy-duty use, include steel belts for added strength and puncture resistance.

Anti-wear Agents: Materials like carbon black and silica are added to reinforce the tire, improve wear resistance, and provide the characteristic black color.

Chemical Additives: These include processing oils, antioxidants, accelerants, retardants, and vulcanization agents (such as sulfur and zinc oxide) that enhance the tire's performance, durability, and resistance to environmental factors.

Other Fillers: Calcium carbonate, clay, or talc may be used as fillers to adjust the properties of the rubber compound.

Tire Construction Overview

Bias Ply Tires: Constructed with multiple plies of rubberized fabric (often nylon, rayon, or polyester) laid diagonally across each other, connecting the sidewall and tread as a single unit. This provides a stiffer sidewall and good stability

Radial Tires: Feature plies running perpendicular to the direction of travel and steel belts under the tread, offering improved flexibility, traction, and reduced soil compaction.
